A beautiful thing

The photo was taken a few months ago and the child is my cousin. I made him an ancient Chinese emperor’s crown (out of a ran-out masking tape core and a chopstick). Then I put him on a Japanese background wearing his modern ‘gown’ – such an excellent combination, or so I thought.

Inspirational building

I grew up seeing this building very often but never have a chance to go inside. I often want to go inside and see what it is like I was never allowed to. I want to understand more of this kind of building and that might be one of the reasons why this kind of architecture always fascinates me. By the way the building is called ‘Hôtel-de-ville’ meaning town hall.

A piece of work from highschool

One night while watching the news, I saw a school’s emblem and that gave me the urge to make one for myself. I started sketching on paper then draw it on the computer. I did not have any software to draw so I just used the traditional Paint. I did not really like the pixellated image but it does turn out to be something very close to my sketch. I made the second one for my friend and that took one third the time. The Latin message under the shield on my emblem is ‘VT DESINT VIRES TAMEN EST LAVDANDA VOLVNTAS’ (even though the power is missing, the will should be praised) and on my friend’s was ‘EGO NON TANVM VTOR TOTVS METALVS VT EGO HABO TAMEN QVICVMQVE MOVBILIS’ (I not only use my brain but also use others’ ) – they are just there to make the crests look archaic even though my designs are not intended to be medieval. (to those who know Latin, you don’t need to tell me how bad my Latin was)
